  1. I couldn't let Dumbo go "unremarked". Just discovered, via Wikipedia, that the film was released not long before I saw it as a child. It still moves me to tears, now, of course, for reasons not necessarily more complicated. Hail Dumbo, his mother, and the crows!

  2. I still don't know how I feel about the crows. But I dreamt of these images one morning. I woke up and it was snowing, downy flakes, in my tall windows. These images still touch me as well. There's something almost sacrilegious about the scene and the choice of music. Dumbo is an important film for me.

  3. I had forgotten for the moment about the crows
    and the stereotype issues. I just remembered (from the childhood memory) how beautiful they were and the energy...Don't know how I feel about them either.
